Todd, you can leave the temperature control on and the DNA40 will automatically detect whether its nickel or kanthal. I always leave it on and have had no issues with it detecting and switching between the two modes.
I'm not having any issues with taste myself but I know from reading through the forums that some do. As for the Nautilus coils, the flavour just wasn't there for me.
not sure if you allow links so apologies if that is the case & feel free to delete. i found the attached link from Basilray very helpful when building my own coils & helping to understand temperature control. https://www.youtube.com/watch?x-yt-cl=85114404&v=RztLT63MMEM&x-yt-ts=1422579428
Hi Todd , Crackin' , honest review as always mate . Don't have the VS dna40 yet , going to hold out and see how it all unfolds . I do have a VS rdna30 and have just removed all the internal gubbins and screen to fit a 22mm 510 connector , strip the paint and give it a bit of TLC as I was starting to get some scoring on the paint around the old 510 " Not the most stunningly beautiful device " ??? what do you reckon mate ? Get your polishing gear out Dude :-)
Hi Todd Good and fair review as usual. Been happy with mine though the first dna 30 and 40s the micro USB failed and only charge my new DNA 40 wireless pad. Like you no condensation as yet. Played about with the temperature and nickel wire but don't feel it's a "game changer" Happier here using kanthal and rarely if ever get dry hits anyway. Martin Ps I still think your Mutt should get more credit.

ReplyDeleteThanks Brent :)
DeleteWhat issues did you have with the Nautilus Temperature Coils? Are you also having any after taste when using nickel builds? Thanks in advance.

No issue with that Tony, I've found Basils videos to be very helpful with the DNA40 gear.
