Your absolutely right this kit is what I was waiting for to revive my interest in some RBA's I have totally forgotten about. I ordered one yesterday and it has shipped to today very excited not my norm for things.
Still a good review. Looks like its Xmas in June for you. I like how you change your music so often. Ever try "Foggy Mountain Breakdown" by Flatt & Scrugs?
Hello Todd, Now that you have an un-modded #19 fire button you might take a look at my thread in the modders section of ECF. "Sigelei #19 mech mod magnet switch" All you need to do is remove the spring, add a magnet and spacer and you have a #19 with a magnet fire button. The spacer is VERY important, to prevent the added magnet from shifting position and shorting neg side of the battery to the tube. Great videos! ScorpioZZZ
You may find that some atty's that don't have adjustable centre pins may not work, especially if the centre pin does not protrude from the 510,in which case the battery will short on the negative part of the 510. Also without an adjustable 510, you may get gaps or battery rattle if the spacer does not work out exactly right, obviously not an issue on telescoping mods though.
I have a similar brass disc for converting my Vela's to hybrid mode, which will work with Gus, Paps, etc. Looks and works great. I would have thought these things will also aid conductivity, because you are losing two extra points of contact.
Ah yes, I should rephrase. The part where I said "in which case the battery will short on the negative part of the 510.", should read "may short" and probably will, if you are using flat top or larger button top batteries without the spacer. At least this is generally the case with 510 hybrid converters, unless there is something else in the SG1 kit to stop that, but I don't think there is.
Good bit of kit! I have a suggestion though - turn the tubes around so the section with the vent holes is at the bottom, and then it looks even smoother!

Hi,
DeleteI'm afraid I have already modified it and posted it off to someone else since recording that video!
Thanks for the advice though, will go for a read anyway.
Cheers
Todd

Tested mate and no issues there at all :)
DeleteEven works with DRA XL and I've ground the 510 connector right down on that.

DeleteI see what you are getting at and yes, flat top without spacer would be an issue but buy another battery and job done.

ReplyDeleteIf you've still got one I was wondering if it would fit the beautiful draw tube.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know, afraid not :(
DeleteHey todd, did you have any airflow issues using the terminator with the sigelei 19b in sg-1 hybrid mode?
ReplyDeleteNot a one :)
DeleteHey Todd,
ReplyDeleteI wonder if this kit works with any other mechanical mods?
Grtz
