I've found that slightly crimping the top of the wick (done by accident with the top of my coil but worked), sanding down the top cap to match the hole more closely with the wick, and then adding a doubled over oring from an Aga-T at the bottom of the thread to stop condensation leaking out vastly improves this.
Good call on crimping the top Nick, something that a lot of folk do as normal with their wicks and then again some folk don't, depends on what works for you :)
Afraid mine is still in bits and not heard back from the vendor about the leaking connector :(
